Dr Liu Kwong Sun

Dr Liu is currently a specialist psychiatrist in private practice. He is also serving as Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Associate Director of the Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, The University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Advisor and Lecturer of the Hong Kong Institute of Christian Counselors. His previous posts included Quality and Safety Director of the Hospital Authority, Hong Kong East Cluster and Consultant Psychiatrist.
Dr Liu is responsible for a number of hospital quality improvement and risk reduction plans. He specialises in professional consultation-liaison in psychiatry, with particular focus on the management of stress, psychological health and suicide problem in youngsters and adults. His research interests include suicide, stress, anxiety, depression and healthcare management.
Dr Liu has delivered lectures and talks on topics of mental health, stress and suicide prevention to local Universities, Government Departments, Schools, Churches and NGOs over the past 20 years. He also promotes mental health regularly via media with the local press and radio.
Dr Liu graduated from the School of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong and holds professional qualifications from the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists.
